Crossrock are a wannabe Melodic Rock band from Brazil, who’ve clearly listened to a lot of Whitecross, Dokken and Kiss albums during their formative years. Their ambition is palpable, their ability to make it, questionable. Too often it sounds like they’ve cut and pasted all the best bits from Eighties’ US FM Radio recordings… like those identikit tribute bands you’d struggle to pick out in a line up.

That said, there’s no doubting their sincerity and there’s no doubting their passion, there’s a spark and a flame to ‘Without Love’ and ‘Tonight’, both showing a glimpse of real talent, but beyond that we’re wading through mediocrity disguised as SRO stadium rock.

They need to cast off the disguises and find their own identity…those two tracks prove it’s in there.
