Hybernoid release limited edition 12″ vinyl EP

Hybernoid fans can now enjoy the band’s some of the band’s cult early releases on vinyl for the very first time, courtesy of Haunted Hotel Records.

Originally released in 1994 on CD and cassette only, the New York label is proud to give this classic recording the vinyl treatment it should have received almost 30 years ago!

A total cult death/doom/goth/shoegaze/4ad release is pressed on red vinyl and housed in a printed inner sleeve. This collectors item also comes with a 11×17 poster insert and additional print work.

These were the last official recordings by Hybernoid, made at the famed Academy Studio in Dewsbury in 1995. The songs capture the band’s punk/metal crossover appeal.

Andy Bennett recalls: “We practiced on a farm in a barn which was almost like playing outside. In winter it was bloody freezing! When we went to Academy Studio we all surprised each other by what we actually played on these tracks, the acoustics in the barn were like being hit by a wall of noise.”

The most radio friendly track, ‘Todays Tomorrows’ became a fixture of the Dutch radio airwaves. “We unintentionally managed to get one of the guitars to sound like a death metal cello, but there is about a minute of Hybernoid’s finest hour – in my opinion,” adds Andy.

The limited press 12″ has been engineered by Rob ‘Mags’ Magoolagan (Anathema, Bal-Sagoth, Blasphemer, Cradle of Filth, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost etc etc…) It boasts 15 minutes of music on one side and etched vinyl on the other.

Sadly the band’s singer Dunk is no longer around but this release is one of which he’d be proud as it showcases Hybernoid at their brilliant best.
