Rising stars These Wicked Rivers have announced an intimate and electrifying June tour, bringing their unique brand of blues-infused rock to churches across England and Scotland.

The inspiration for The Churches Tour was born in 2022, when the band played at MacArts in Galashiels alongside Hayseed Dixie. Guitarist Arran Day recalls, “We were immediately blown away by the magic of playing rock and roll in a church—the acoustics, the atmosphere, and the warmth of the people inside. That experience sparked the idea for this tour: to bring people together from all walks of life for an evening that feels truly special and entirely ours.”
One particularly meaningful stop will be St. Peter’s Church in Belper, a location close to the band’s heart. “Every tour, we make sure to play a show that connects to home. Belper is where our heart beats, where we rehearse, and where we load up the bandwagon,” explains Arran. “Playing St. Peter’s feels like the perfect way to celebrate with our Rivers family.”
John Hartwell (vocals) adds: “We often call each venue our ‘church’ for the night because of the deep connection we share with our audience. A church should be a place where people come together to celebrate something they believe in — and we feel that energy every time we step on stage. Any true music fan will tell you how spiritual live music feels, and this tour is all about embracing that experience.”
